About Work
Apart from “stone,” “sea,” “island” and “circle comprising dynamic lines,” “wooden pole” has become a newly developed vocabulary in Lin’s recent works. In these compositions, the poles stand scattered in the water, indicating no seasonal change since they lack twigs and leaves. They simply stand still there like rotten wood. The choreographed backgrounds show layers of fine textures and misty haze, inviting the viewers to cogitate upon the rheology and constancy in the elapsing of time.
